I just switched cell phone companies. The new phone I bought is an android. I downloaded a couple of free games, and never thought anything more about it.
My cell bill came in today. I immediately called them to find out what these charges were.
They claim that I started a subscription with Gameloft...and that they are charging me for games and such.
They told me to text STOP to a certain number. It bounced back to me.
I finally tracked down Gameloft on line and called the 1-800 number that is on their site.
They gave me a different number to text "stop" to ( via recorded message ) and then was told that their office is open during regular business hours only. Not sure what country they are in, but I know it's not in North America, as it's the middle of the afternoon here.
Anyway, I did NOT download any "pay for " games, but I did get 2 free games...and one of them is a Gameloft game.
I HAVE used Google cards to pay for in game gold and such for both of these games.
Apparently, from what I can gather, Gameloft charges you $4.99 - $9.99 every time you use the Google card to pay for in game items...cause that's the ONLY thing that I can think of that they could have charged me 9 times for. Certainly they would not have charged me two different prices 9 times ( so far ) for downloading one FREE game...would they?
I've checked my phone a dozen times, and had my teenager check it as well, and we can't find ANYTHING on my phone that is attached to a Gameloft subscription. And no...they never asked me for ANY information when I downloaded the game...so can't see there being a subscription.
So this is all very odd.
I tried emailing them, but as stated above, their office is closed. So I have no idea if they will ever read it or respond to it.
IF their office is over seas, I'm guessing I'll never get this straightened out, as I can't stay awake until 2 in the morning...too old to stay up late. lol
Wondering if I should delete the game, or will they keep on charging me for not even having the game anymore?
The phone company won't help me at all.
Starting to wish that I had stayed with the other phone company.
