I've been having problems with my laptop speakers for a while now and decided to google the problem to see if there was anything I could do to fix the problem.

I came upon a software called speedmaxpc which claimed to be approved by microsoft and had all this convincing jargon on its website claiming the registry could be clogged up with files affecting my speakers performance so I decided to download it.

Upon downloading, it automatically did a scan and came up with a number of problems affecting my laptop but I'd have to pay a fee of £20 to fix the problems. I thought it was worth it, however I ended up being charged £30 instead and a page came up saying I had to ring a number for someone to connect to my pc which made me suspicious.

I decided to google is speedmaxpc genuine and a load of scam reports came up so I decided not to download the full software and request for a refund. However I've heard a lot of people have been unsuccessful in getting one, although it claims to give you 30 days to make your mind up before paying for it so I'm not too hopeful about getting a refund.

I just wish I had googled and researched the product first before paying but the website looked and sounded genuine, also I've bought software from typing in problems on google before with no problem.
