Complaint against Public Pages;

I had received a call (don’t remember when, either late 2011 or early 2012) regarding confirming information in my FREE listing in the yellow pages, as a business owner with a business phone they list your business name phone number and sometimes the business address free and if you want an ad it costs extra. Several years ago we did do an ad with yellow pages and it doesn’t work for us, so we have never paid for advertising since then in any phone book (on Paper or Online) I just won’t spend money on it. During this phone call they asked a bunch of questions and I had to restart several times because if you said NO to most of the questions you had to start over. I finally got tired of answering the questions they said something about $599. I said no way I wouldn’t spend that on advertising and wanted no part of it, but somehow that part of me refusing anything that cost money was missing from the recording they played back to me. I had not authorized the ad program and I do not advertise with any phone pages as stated earlier. Another thing I found interesting is when I finally asked where I could see this so called ad (usually when an ad is evolved you have input into what goes into the ad) well I looked up ad and all it is are paragraphs taken from the about us and mission statement on our website, nothing like any ad we’ve ever run. In June 2012 I received a phone call saying that I owed $599. They played back the recording of me agreeing to the program, I insisted that I had not authorized this and these were not the questions I answered. After much arguing I got them to reduce the amount and paid $449.99 on June 27th to protect my credit rating. On 10/29/2013 I received another phone call stating they were the Public Pages (I told them I had never heard of the Public Pages) but they tell me I now owed $975.17 for which I never received a bill, which was later determined that they had the wrong address (Ironic since they were on my website pulling information to put in the ad which has our correct address that hasn’t changed in the 8 years we’ve been in business). These people need to be shutdown it’s a huge SCAM, everyone beware.

The last time they charged my card (6-27-12) it showed up on my credit card statement as EBS 412-788-3900 PA. under ECSI Inc. 181 Montour Run Rd. Coraopolis, PA.
