On my most recent AT&T monthly statement a charge for some sort of long distance service was added to my regular service bill.
I did not order any long distance service from the entity shown as Roman LD, Inc. and billed thru USBI.
I know no service was ordered because the line in question has 1) no telephone connection, it is solely for an automatic fire alarm system for my business and has no way of receiving or placing voice calls and, 2) there is no reason for any use of this line for any purpose other than the automated alarm calls to the local alarm monitoring agency. Furthermore, I am the only person who handles any and all financial matters for my solo business.
In short, I believe this charge was fabricated out of thin air.
I did call the 866 number for USBI (866-480-8724) and was assured by the USBI agent (#1181406) that I would be credited for this charge and it would not appear again. I will monitor future bills to ensure that this charge does not re-appear.
This complaint is to alert others to the practices of Roman LD, Inc. and USBI
