Got a phone call last November 2012 about a vacation package to Cancun, Orlando, Florida and a cruise in Bahamas. The telemarketer told me I can travel in any 3 destination until 2015. At first I was hesitant but the telemarketer mentioned my cousin's name and said she bought the package also. I was going to a conference on July 2013 on Orlando, FL for one week so I agreed to buy the package.
After 5 months, I got an email from them asking to confirm my address. I thought it was just to update their system or something. But after a few days I checked the charges on my credit card, I got surprised to see another charge of a vacation package from them again! For one week I kept trying to call the customer service but they kept on passing me to different people saying that they will investigate and call me back. None of them called me back! One of them even insisted that I bought the package! The last person I talked to said they are going to refund my money for that but I need to fill out the reimbursement form and sign it. When I got the form on my email, it seems like the way it was written it was indicating I really bought the vacation package. This is so frustrating!
This was also the time I emailed them to ask for my sales receipt. And surprise, surprise! The terms I had agreed to when I bought the package was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the receipt. I was originally told I can travel to any destination until 2015, on the receipt it was "You have 12 months to make your reservation and you may travel anytime in the next 18 months" and then "As a thank you for your attendance at a 90-120 minute presentation and tour while in Cancun, you will receive the Bonus Vacations as outlined above." - Never was I told that I was going to a presentation in order to get the vacation package. I had only agreed to buy the package because of the conference I was going to on Florida. But after reading that, I felt so mad and so violated. The telemarketer clearly knew this reason but still he kept on insisting me to buy it and never brought this to my attention.
I emailed the quality assurance department about this because I knew my conversations with the customer representatives are going nowhere. I never received any written reply. But one of the telemarketer who sold this package to me called after 2 days. He said that he was sorry because he made a mistake for putting my name when another person who has the same surname bought the package. He was also apologizing because he could not explain this sooner because he got suspended for 2 weeks because of my complaint. This was after 2 weeks I discovered the unsolicited charge on my card and after 2 days I sent my email. How can someone make a mistake typing a name, address, credit card number of a person you are talking to on the phone???
I tried to give them some time to refund my money but I never heard from them.
