I received a call on my home phone telling me that I've won five point five million dollars thru my mastercard account number & that they "American Cash Awards", are assigned to deliver the check to me at my door. The person on the phone has a heavy indian accent, he calls himself David Clark , & tells me that they are based in Las Vegas & that they'll be flying out tonight by private jet to meet with me as soon as possible , & we've been looking for you for three weeks ! Did you not receive the "papers" we sent you ?They were returned to our office ; did we mail it to the wrong address ? And so it begins .....these people had my name ,address , home phone & the last four digits of my "winning" credit card number. They tell you congratulations a hundred times , that you are a historic winner with such a large amount to win , what will you do with the money ?, who will be the beneficairy ?, do you want the taxes withheld ?, where do you want us to deliver the check ? ,what will happen at the "presentation", who will be there : an accountant , a rep. from the state lotto commission , & a rep. from the federal trade commission , etc. They are very clever when they ask you to provide a proccessing & delivery fee of $975.00 . claiming that because they accidentilly mailed the "papers" to the wrong address , to prove who I am when they arrive , that I have to get the cash , call them back & follow instructions to go to the nearest RITE-Aid & purchase a green dot money pack (2 cards), call them back & give them the numbers on the back before they will give you any further info . They state that everything has changed since 9/11 . Keep a hold on these receipts for they will re-emburse me fully in cash when they arrive at my door . Then time goes by & they make excuses for not showing up , all the time calling you & reassuring you that this is for real & stay by your phone & get yourself all dolled up for the presentation .
Then they call you & explain that because of the missed delivery of the "papers" that in order for you to receive you money today that you must either drive to Washington, DC.to collect your winnings or a "water carrier?" service could be provided to me for another small fee . If you are a senior citizen you get a discount ; only $4999.00 ; if not $9999.00 ; "get the cash & call us back & we'll tell you what to do ." Oh , & David Clark says he'll help you get the money by maxing out his personal credit card & you'll only have to pay $2999.00 to cover the rest but you have to promise to pay him back when they come to your door .
So , for such a large amount, I demanded some sort of proof of delivery & they sent me by email a bogus letter with the Bank of America logo on it ; stating my winnings & a copy of the check I supposedly won .
If you look closely at the email , you'll notice many miss spelled words ; they spell casino (cassino), & so forth.
All the time calling me , reassuring me that this is for real , & "Are you crazy ?" for questioning anything. etc....
Well, in conclusion , I went to Bank of America & showed them this email & they all but laughed at me for being so gulliable . I have reported all of this to every scam dept I could think of . & there is one more guy who calls himself Bob Dryden , who is involved with this scam representing himself as a lottery commission worker .
Stay away from these phone calls & emails. They are 100% scam !
PS. They called when I was at the police station reporting this scam, the officer answered for me & told them to stop calling me right now ; They left me alone last night but are back again calling me today. They don't want to give up .

Don't believe their stories when they tell you they won't deliver if THEY FEEL your life is in danger.
