Just received a call from someone claiming to be a Microsoft technician (sounded slightly Middle Eastern). After he hung up; I *69 the number: 845-459-0335. He told me that my computer was sending error messages; and would crash if I did not get them to help me. As I got one of these calls a week or so ago; I researched online to see it was a scam. So, I told the tech that I doubt Microsoft would call individuals about a problem on a single computer. He said Microsoft wasn't that he was from a company that handles it. I told him I did not think so. He said my computer would crash if I did not let him walk me through it. I said I was not getting error messages. He said I was. And the he could show me. I said how? He said he'd walk me though the process so I could see the error messages and he'd help get rid of the problem. I said no thanks. He said enjoy the crash. The rudeness is almost comical. It is incredibly creepy and annoying to speak to an actual person who is trying to scam me.
