Received a check for $1950.00 drawn on Bank of Montreal, Koodo Mobile, was the payor on the check. The check was accompanied with a letter from "The National Lottery" informing me I won $50,000 in a lottery held in the UK because I went shopping at selected stores in North America- they listed many popular chains which everyone has shopped at. The letter is from Katie Hamilton (Promotional Director). They tell you the enclosed check is drawn from your winnings(they spelled this wrong as "wining") so you can send them $1,620 via a Western Union money transfer for taxes due. They claim they will send the remaining winnings via FedEx after the "taxes" are paid. You are supposed to contact the claim agent, Mr. Johnson Stanhope to be begin your claim. They created fraudulent checks using Bank of Montreal account number and ABA #. Even if the check goes through(not likely-SIA is probably all over this) SIA would come back after you for the money since you are not entitled to it. Total scam.
