Online Public Yellow Pages called my business selling Internet advertising. It was refused. Many subsequent calls followed, each ended in a refusal.
A fraudulent recording was made of an employee of the company with no purchasing authority, saying 'yes' or 'no' in answer to fabricated conversation. The recording was played to me when I received the first demand for money.
I told them that the recording was not of anyone with authority to purchase. Harassing calls began.
I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, who was already aware of the scam. I heard nothing of the incident again until a letter arrived 7/8/2013 dated 6/28/2013 from MA Recovery, supposedly the collection agency for Online Public Yellow pages.
I have once again contacted the Federal Trade Commission to update the previous complaint. I am now waiting for a copy of the complaint to arrive by mail.

  • Exact same thing happened to us. We received a letter from MA Recovery demanding that we pay our "debt" that we owe from online public yellow pages. The originally address for MA Recovery in June was 11350 Random hills Rd. Suite 800 Fairfax, Virginia 22030. We received another letter from MA Recovery now in November and their address changed to 999 Waterside Drive, Suite 2525, Norfolk Virginia 23510. I looked up both address. The first address is to a yellowpagesonline.net company. This yellow pages company is also doing similar business practices to online public yellow pages. The second address (MA Recovery's current address) is currently for rent with no occupants. I could not find any evidence of MA Recovery being incorporated in Virginia. When you start connecting the dots, its clear that MA Recovery is not an actually collection agency, they had the same address of a similar yellow book scam company. They are all related.
