I was contacted by e-mail by Gabriel Fox of First Mortgage West about a 3% interest rate refinance FMW was offering. He said the way they were able to do this is that they were owned by a private investment group. After going through all of the qualification process over 2 months I was told that I needed to put 1 years payments into a escrow type account called a "funds verification account" at Bank of America. I was skeptical to the point that I drove into Downtown LA to meet with Gabriel at his off site office where he reassured me they were legitimate so my fiance and I moved forward. After the transfer I had to travel for work and was not able to follow up for 6 weeks but my fiance said they were working on the loan. Now there is no way to contact them. Our $30,000.?
