I am handicapped and needed a power recliner chair because of back surgery and edema in my legs. I looked on line and was directed to the SpinLife company site, who in their ad state they bill Medicare. We followed the company's instructions by forwarding them the information, including the Doctor's Medical Necessity form and a prescription. They requested the original prescription instead of a Faxed copy. Again we complied. I checked numerous times with Medicare when I was not able to find any payment or request to Medicare. I called the SpinLife company via land line and was told that it has been submitted. I waited a few weeks and checked again and still Medicare did not receive the claim. I called the SpinLife company who told me that it was Medicare and not their company causing any delay. I asked them again to resubmit the info to Medicare. Today, June, 26th, 2013, weeks after my last call to SpinLife, I checked my Medicare account and again it was not listed.
I called Medicare via land line and once agan was told they never received any claim and told me that the company is not an authorized associated Medicare Company as it appeared to be.
Medicare does not pay for the chair itself but for the motor to raise and lower the chair that I need it to keep my legs elevated above my chest. I feel that SpinLife misrepresented themselves by their ad which is on their homepage about them billing Medicare. I wrote them prior to me sending you this e-mail and requested a full refund and return of the zero gravity chair to them.
I have been paying the bill faithfully and on time since my order and have one more payment to the SpinLife Company.

Thank you!
Art Plescia

  • Dear Mr. Plescia,

As Supervisor of SpinLife’s Medicare Billing dept., I apologize for any inconveniences and delays in the receipt of your reimbursement. SpinLife offers Medicare/Insurance billing for all of our customers as a courtesy. Sometimes, filing a claim with Medicare can be a long and difficult process. Your claim was submitted to Medicare on 4/3/13. Unfortunately, your claim was kicked backed from the billing process. When this happens, we submit the claim again, which we did on 5/31/13. Please allow at least 4-6 weeks for the billing process to be completed. Our staff of Medicare Billing Specialists are experienced and knowledgeable in processing claims to Medicare. SpinLife is a reputable DME Supplier and authorized provider to bill Medicare. We ask for your time and patience as we help you through this process.
