The situation is that I purchased the Magic Jack Plus in February of this year using a bank debit card. I received emails from Magic Jack thanking me for the purchase and everyday offering to extend my service for another year or sign up for all there other services. Then after
four months I think they tried to get money again from my card, but I had cancelled the card due to situations of another company trying scam
money. Magic Jack sent so many emails that usually I didn't read them
anymore so they turned off the phone when the bank informed them I had
cancelled the card. From February until May there was no mention of not
getting the funds owed to them, but as soon as the account was
closed they alleged that they did not get paid. Magic Jack is supposed to be a one time payment type of service not a monthly
billing. Then when I tried to pay with my American Express, I received
a message that the card was not accepted. Then when I checked my balance and called American Express I was informed that the missing funds were paid to Magic Jack, Now the only way to contact them is online Chats, The conversation with them does`nt offer any resolution
but is still demanding that I send them $60. so my question was don`t I get credit for the $32. that the card company said was paid
to Magic Jack, they offered no excuse and saying again they did not
get any money. I think they are scamming me as well as lots of other customers. The Magic Jack is totally a scam it does not work any different than their regular Magic Jack it only runs off your computer so its false advertisement to charge double the price. Is this legal can companys just take your money like that and misrepresent isn`t there any kind of protection for consumers? Where can I get help?
