PrivPro charged me $14.95 for something that I never ordered. In fact, I had never heard about this company until today. While I make quite a few online purchases, at the same time I can identify all of them. In this case, I could not track down any purchase I authorized. Instead, what I did find were numerous references to an association between PrivPro and Spokeo.com.

So I claimed the charges as fraudulent, listed the card they were charged against as compromised and cancelled my Spokeo account.

In cases like this, I have learned it is best just to back away altogether right from the start. Given this type of behavior is common and very hard to find a positive resolution with, it is better to just move on. There will be another service like Spokeo sometime in the future that may be offer a bit more reliability.

As far as PrivPro goes, I am not even going to entertain the idea of contacting a scammer because it will likely open another can of worms. I don’t care who they are and I do not want to know.

  • I had the same problem! As soos as I made my payment to SPOKEO less then 3 day I got SMS that some one charge me $14.95 so, I wrote to SPOKEO and ask them to cancel my account with them,. They replay me with acceptable. But money still been take in in august, September and October! I went to my bank and cancel my card. Hope PRIVPRO will stop charge again this amount! Just wonder where I can find this company? Who are they? And HOW I can return my money back?
