two guys in a white suv pulled up while I was at a gas station asking if I wanted a speaker system. said it was very expensive and they got an extra from their manufacturer and were trying to get rid of it. Had a printed invoice and business cards and a magazine with the product in it for like $1999.99. The box was taped up and sealed and everything looked legit, they seemed very trustworthy and they did genuinely seem like good people, I am very critical of character, and I closely examined them, and they seemed like they really meant well. That obviously turned out not to be the case. They offered to show IDs, open the box to the look at the product, and give me a receipt. I should have taken them up on the IDs, and written it all down but stupidly did not. I assume they had very legitimate fake IDs because they were ready to pull them out right then when I was skeptical of them, I ended up just not taking them up on it. He told me it was a great deal, this and that. I told him I'd do it for $500 right now, got 500 from the atm right at the gas station and gave it to them. They said I'd have to take em to a titty bar to make up for the deal they gave me. I havent yet tried the speakers but they look like they do work, just very poor quality. more like $100 speakers, not 2000.

  • Same here, it looks so legit I was pretty sure that I was getting a very sweet deal. I paid $300 and I learned my lesson. I am so stupid, end of the story.
