I manage an property investment property in Jersey City for a private owner.

We hired Claudio for a much needed roof repair. He was recommend by the neighbor who uses him for cheap fixes.

I met with him and his partner at the time. They seemed to know roofing and explained how things would go.. The price quote was 4200. We paid half at the start of the agreement.

I inspected now and then as the work progressed and I was very happy to finally have this fixed as it was causing us many problems.

His price seemed good and from what I could tell half was materials and about half profit .. my point being.. no need to skimp on materials or procedure.

There was a number of old cheap paper roofs which had to be cut through to replace the wood and to then reseal with a quality rubber roof. I stopped inspecting near the end as the work was going well .. or so I thought...

I took a quick look at the roof when it was finished and thought it was ok.. He was paid as promised ... He left a lot of trash with the promise to come back and get it .. some 15 bags of roof trash. .. He never did..

BUt here is the main issue... HE LEFT A 10ft X 10ft 2 INCH POND IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR FLAT ROOF..E CUT OUT THE OLD ROOF AND DIDNT FILL IT BACK IN WITH NEW WOOD.. HE KNEW TO DO THIS AS HE DID IT ON SMALLER SECTIONS .

WE JUST TRIED TO SELL THE BUILDING AND THIS WAS NOTED BY THE INSPECTOR. WHICH WAS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS THE BUILDING DIDN'T SELL. WE ARE NOW LOOKING INTO GOING AFTER HIM FOR THE REPAIR OR SUBMITTING HIS INFORMATION TO THE IRS OR ANYTHING WE CAN TO RECOVER ON THIS MATTER.. INCLUDING HIM FIXING THIS WHICH IS UNLIKELY I SUSPECT. HE IS VERY FRIENDLY WHICH COVERS UP HIS DECEIT.He claims a triple A rating with the BBB The other Rhino Construcions that have that rating are NOT him.. BE FOREWARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
