I ordered during their 4 hour promotion, during which they had sales for all the stores they represent.
I checked out twice, stopping halfway the first time and going back to add the promo code.

Well, the first time started me on paypal. The second time I selected to use my credit card. Well, I realized IMMEDIATELY upon checking out that the card they tried to run was no longer valid (I'm surprised they don't have a safeguard). I immediately contacted customer service, requesting to change my payment option. I even went in and added the new credit card number. It took almost 24 hours for the service rep to respond, asking me to contact paypal to change payment method.

I first checked my account, then contacted Paypal who confirmed for me that there was no pending charge and no charge had been made or filed.

I replied these findings to the service rep again and requested a change in payment method.

In response, she cancelled my order (which was "Pending" up to that point) and told me to re-order the drive, but I would have to pay full price now.

I then received a customer satisfaction survey, concluding our communication... Yeah.

I contacted Rakuten again explaining the whole fiasco in depth, and received a very brief reply, answering only one of my questions.

"Thank you for contacting Rakuten.com Shopping regarding your order number 7XXXXXXX. I am sorry to learn that your order was cancelled.

Even though this promotion has ended, we would like to invite you to regularly visit Rakuten.com Shopping as we are always providing great promotions for all our valued customers."

Gee, thanks for nothing.
