My caller ID did not show a phone number but I took the call anyway. The speaker claimed that I had won the Publishers Clearing House lottery.

He seemed to have trouble speaking, answering basic questions, and comprehending what I was saying. Sounded like a black man and had a Jamaican/Island accent (I'm of black descent so I'm not being racist.) At one point, he got rude with me because he thought that I wasn't who I said I was.

I figured out that it was a scam almost immediately but decided to play along. I asked him to give me information on how to prove that he was legit. He gave me the number 516-252-9425 and told me to call back immediately. I did not.

Do NOT confirm your name. (I accidentally did that. LOL) Do NOT confirm your address. Do NOT agree to anything. Tell him you're not interested, not to call again, and hang up.
