Received check for $3960.10 in mail asking me to call Amanda Lee, 1-647-739-5590, to claim my prize. Did not call or cash check. SCAM. Went to my bank to verify authenticity and advised it was a scam and if I cashed the check and sent money, the check would bounce and I would be responsible for the loss.

  • My Dad received a ck for same amount. It has the address on the check Synovate, 222 South Riverside Plaza, Chicago, IL 60607, the accompanying letter says: USA Mega Million Lottery Sweepstakes, 578 Mesuite Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101. In addition to all these kind of mailings he has been receiving, He has recently been scammed by some men who claimed he had won a Mercedes Benz. They convinced him to go to Wal Mart and purchase (specifically instructed) Green Dot (PayPal) cards. One for $200, another $300. The next day they convinced him he should get another for $500. He had already given them the card's numbers before we were aware of it. His money was gone. He is still receiving calls from them. I have all his calls forwarded to my home phone. My father is in his late 70's. There is no way to trace these guys, they do not send any paper out, no emails and the phone number comes up as Las Vegas NV but you can't get a person on it. They are very persistent and keep trying to reach my father because they feel like he can be convinced that he is just a few more dollars away from "claiming" his prize. I have tried to block the number but haven't had any luck.
