DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA.COM. I booked a flight to D.C. but couldn't use it when the conference I was to attend was cancelled due to a power outage. I was promised a credit for the flight minus the $75. change fee. When I tried to use the credit, Expedia told me I had to book through the airline, who at first, told me to book through Expedia. I couldn't book a new flight with that airline because they no longer served my home city. Expedia told me to drive 10 hours to catch a flight, or they couldn't help. After speaking with a supervisor for 1.5 hours, she hung up on me. I then called the airline again and relayed what had happened. AirTran (thank you for your help) called Expedia for me and they were assured that a refund would be issued within 7-10 business days. Of course, it never showed up. I called AirTran again and this time we did a 3-way conversation with Expedia, who now told me a refund takes 1-2 billing cycles to show up. Obviously this is a lie and they had no confirmation code for the refund to verify they had issued it. Still trying to resolve the issue but not hopeful :(
