My wife received in the mail today an "Official Mail Delivery" (Form W098) notice from this entity. The notice advised her that she was eligible to win $2,000,000; the mechanism to be used to confirm her a winner was not clearly set forth. She was asked to complete the Judging Sheet and return it within seven days, and was given an option of receiving an annuity or a lump sum payment. Only if she elected to avail herself of the Premium Offer, which entailed being given a gift card for discounted purchases, online, at WONrewards.com was she asked to send $11.89 along with her Judging Sheet.

It may very well be that this is a scam, but it is not one of those cases in which the recipient is required to send money in advance, at least in the initial instance. Subsequent mailings may involve a demand for money in order to proceed. While I recognize that others who have complained about this company may have been faced with different circumstances, my impression is that none of them read, and really understood, what they were being asked to do.

  • I have also received one of these mailings; but have not sent it in since I have never heard of this outfit before. After reading several times, it appears to me that you would be entered in the contest without sending any money for the "premium" discount card and would just be losing out on that offer. The whole thing is most likely a scam because the instructions are so vague that you are lead to believe that you must get the discount card to enter while having "no purchase necessary" stated elsewhere on the page. I forget the amount that the discount card is supposed to be worth; but there is no way you could get that much discount by buying a card for a few bucks unless every product on the website is priced to the moon to begin with or it is a site where you will never receive your merchandise. Anybody else out there had any dealings with this "prize" company or the WONrewards website?
