THG Outlet sells discounted Gravity Defyer shoes. I shopped there for the first time last week. I spent nearly two hours shopping on their site, adding items, changing items, etc. During this time I entered their "blow out sale" area and selected a couple items as well. Items from this area have a disclaimer of "no refunds or returns". At the end of my shopping I had about a 18 shoes selected; I narrowed this down to a list of four items in my shopping cart. In the description column, two items listed the name of the shoe I was purchasing. In the same column for the other two items it said "Final Sale. No Refunds, Returns, or Exchanges accepted." Because I was reasonably certain of the size on the two items where this was listed, I proceeded with the order. Based on the fact that two of the items were marked with the disclaimer, and two of the items were not, I assumed that the regular exchange policy was in play for the two items without a disclaimer. Sure enough, when I received my order the two items did not fit and I called about an exchange. I was told that ALL four items were from the "no returns/exchange" page. I was baffled because I had used the presence of the disclaimer to narrow down my original selections, to ensure that I would be able to exchange items where the sizes might be wrong. I had even printed out the list of items with the content next to them. But the CS rep said tough luck.

To me this is just bull. Online shoppers move from page to page all the time. The items I ordered were, in fact, available on multiple pages. Frankly, I don't THINK all the items came off that page, but even if I am wrong, the fact that the disclaimer presents itself for some items and not others is confusing at best and misleading in the worst. I would like this company to 1) honor my request to exchange my items, and 2) fix their system so it is no longer a booby trap for folks like me who build a list of potential items and then reduce it later.

  • honor my request to exchange the items and change their system so this does not happen to others in the future.
