Googled technical support for CA Internet Security Suite and brought up PC Care which suggested they were official CA support. They reviewed my computer remotely and told me the problems I was having were a result of numerous viruses and files that had been remotely installed. Said I was at immediate risk for identity theft etc. if I didn't immediately fix them. Gave them authority to do so and after 45 minutes of simply fiddling and deleting temporary files, they told me everything was fixed. When the problem wasn't fixed, I googled PC Care and discovered they NEVER fix anything but simply scare people into thinking their computer is in imminent peril. I contacted PC Care as if I hadn't spoken with them before, and they went through the same routine telling me my computer was corrupted and I was in danger of losing personal info. When I told them I knew they were lying because they just "cleaned up" my computer the night before, they hung up. Fortunately, my credit card company reimbursed me for this scam.
