My loan was sold to Nationstar Mortgage Co. in Lewisville, TX a few years ago. For the past two and a half to three years I've paid my mortgage on a quarterly basis. From the beginning, Nationstar would apply two of those payments to "principal". The next thing to happen would be nasty-grams from them saying I'd defaulted on my payments and that a payment was due for the next month. I've been forced to call them nearly every month to explain to them that these were payments and NOT for principal. Every check I sent stated "payment only - not for principal". I've made multiple calls to them each and every month and spent hundreds of hours trying to resolve this unbearable situation with them. I get lots of promises and lo and behold, the following month, the same situation repeats itself. Within the past month, I attempted to get a loan on a home in another state and was turned down due to "too many" lates on my mortgage. When I found out about this I called Nationstar to find out why they had reported me late in 2009 and 2011 and their response was that they had never turned me into the credit agencies as ever being late. This is obviously an untruthful statement. As it stands today, I am paid until October 1, 2012 and yet yesterday I get another statement from them saying I am past due by two months in the amount of $1964.45 with an additional $23.44. All my payments are sent in individually in the amount of $963.44, yet they chose to give me credit for just $940.00 of one of the most recent months and have me as owing the 23.44. This is more frustrating than I am capable of dealing with at this time and don't know where to turn. If you can offer any suggestions as to how I might fight this, please let me know. They have damaged my credit and hopefully there is some agency that could assist me in clearing all this up.
