Timeshare resale. Little steps where taken until the final approach to request the deposit. Was guaranteed closing date to continue with receiving proprety purchase offer. Company would return calls and correspond via email. It was good until recent read this company was a scam company.

- What exactly is the scam? Do you think that ultimately you will never see any money and Brownstone will own your timeshare? I too have been approached, made on offer, initial work was carried out with all dispatch, but I still couldn't figure the whole thing out. So far, only my intuition tells me to beware. I'd like to know if my intuition is based on facts and what those facts are. If you can clarify, I'd be most grateful.

- The answer is NO to both questions. Because of the first "no," I spent a week in phone calls, scanning material and e-mailing it, thinking that maybe this company was offering something different than all the others and I wanted to find out what.At the same time, I had severe doubts emanating from questions like a) how did they pick me out of the tens of thousands of owners of Mayan property? b) how on earth were they able to offer me so much money for the property? c) why were their reports of their office activity erroneous most of the time? [e.g. "so-and-so called you and quoted the offered price" - that never happened;] why did the agent have to get off the phone so fast to make a call to Chicago to the funding company they always work with? She said that Chicago was an hour ahead of Houston. I don't think so. In fact, I know so, and would have thought she would too!) Since the initial one week of constant calls and call backs and emails and promises of a Friday closing (prior to Labour Day), I have heard absolutely nothing from these people, but much more about them has appeared on the web from just Aug. 22 - 25. I'd be really interested to know your story. The company seems to be able to start off with a certain amount of seeming integrity. Weird!
