IN DECEMBER OF 2011, I FAYE NICHOLSON PURCHASED A DINING ROOM SET FROM ASHLEY'S FUNITURE ON BROAD STREET . I PAID THE DOWN PAYMENT , AND I HAVE MADE MY PAYMENTS MMONTHLY . I WAS LATE , TWICE BUT WITHIN THE MONTH . THEY HARRASSED ME AND CALLED TWO AND THREE TIMES DAILY. THEN THEY BEGAN CALLING THE DAY THE PAYMENT WAS DUE OR BEFORE. SOMETIMES THREE AND FOUR TIMES A DAY , LEAVING MESSAGES, COMING BY MY HOME AND TALKING ARROGANTLY AND MAKING THREATS. MAKING INSULTS AND MADE ME PAY A DOUBLE PAYMENT IN ONE MONTH. THEY SAID THEY NO LONGER TOOK PARTIAL PAYMENTS, AND THEN TURNED AROUND AND THREATEND ME IF I DID NOT PAY 93.00 WHICH WAS A PARTIAL PAYMENT. THEY ARE INDIGNANT, ARROGANT AND JUST CRAZY. I MEAN"CRAZY"THE MANAGER ALSO STATED, SO YOU CANT' AFFORD OUR PRODUCT. I TOLD HIM THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE STATING , NOT ME. i NOT EVEN THREE DAYS LATE. THEY HARRASSED ME SO MUCH , THAT I BECAME VERY DEPRESSED. IM ON MEDICATION AND I BECAME VERY DISPONDENT. THEY CONTINUED TO CALL EVERY DAY EVEN AFTER I MADE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. WHICH AS OF TODAY ARE NOT DUE UNTIL 24TH OF AUGUST. THEY CALLED SO MUCH THAT I FINNALLY TOLD THEM , PLEASE STOP CALLING ME, I HAVE ALREADY DISCUSSED PAYMENT ARRANGEMMENTS WITH YOU. THE LADY STATED THAT SHE WOULD LOSE HER JOB IF SHE DID NOT CALL EVERYDAY. SHE EVEN LIED TO HER MANAGER AND TOLD THEM THAT I SAID I WOULD BORROW THE MONEY AND PAY THEM. I TOLD THE MANAGER, I NEVER STATED THAT , AND HE CONTINUED TO BE RUDE. SHE CALLED ME BACK AGAIN THE SAME DAY AND SAID SHE LIED TO THEM BECAUSE SHE DID NOT WANT TO LOSE HER JOB. I HAVE SINCE MOVED AND WOULD LIKE TO FILE SUIT. THE YOUNG LADY CALLED ME AGAIN ON THE 23, OF AUGUST AND SAID , IM SORRY THAT I UPSET YOU. WELL THAT WAS AFTER THE MANY HARRASSING PHONE CALLS ALREADY MADE.THEY CALLED BOTH CELL PHONES REPEATEDLY. OVER AND OVER AGAIN, IN ONE DAY , LEFT MESSAGES AND CONTINUED TO CALL EVERY DAY. PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS WERE MADE , AND IT WAS NOT TIME TO MAKE THAT PAYMENT, SO I HAVE RELOCATED. IM NOT EVEN ONE MONTH BEHIND.. AFTER THE FACT. I AM ILL AND MY PRESSURE IS UP AND STAYS UP BECAUSE OF RAC acceptance. they need to be shut down and ran out of business. FAYE NICHOLSON (Personal Information Removed)

  • Hi Faye, I work at Rent-A-Center and I am very sorry to hear about your experience with RAC Acceptance. At RAC, we don’t require big deposits or credit checks, but we do require that customers make payments on time. That being said, it is absolutely against our policies to use threats or undue pressure when attempting to collect merchandise or payments from a customer. What you’ve described is certainly not the experience we want our customers to have, and we would like to try our best to make this up to you. Could you please call our Customer Care team at 1-800-422-8186 and let them know what happened? I know it’s one more step to take, but giving Customer Care your feedback is the best way for issues like this to be addressed. Thanks!
