I have been scammed in the past, so when I received this letter I was very hesitant. I also received a letter....and a check from Provident Financial Group 560 Main Street San Diego, CA 92110 phone 1-323-345-1405.I supposedly won $9,968.00 in a promotional draw for all customers of Wal-mart, Sears, Home Depot, Safeway, etc. They sent a check in the amount of $990.00 that was to cover state taxes to be taken out of my winnings. I was to contact Sharon Whites at 1-774-776-8856 or 1-289-927-5323. The check looked real, but I decided to try to verify the routing number on the check which did not verify. However, the account number is actually a routing number for Wells Fargo Bank in Minneapolis, MN. I also searched the company name that was on the check which came back as a manufacturer of antennas. Once I searched for the company on the letter, I found this site. I am very thankful for sites like these that offer help for those of us who have been scammed. To bad we actually need these sites.
