The complaint is a listing fraud posted on public forums or sites against an anonymous entity
The complaint is mobile text spam or smishing related against an anonymous entity
The company or person contact no longer exists

Received a very suspicious mail. They indicated that I had won $56,000 and were enclosing a check for $3750 as partial payment and to offset $2570 in "application and insurance fees".
However, before I could claim the price, I had to call a number in Toronto to claim the prize. I suspect that they wanted to get my bank account information so they could pull the funds.
The letter includes a very poor quality fake reproduction of the "value star" seal.
Please do not fall for this scam.
PS - the prize was not not even written to the correct name of anyone in the household!

I received the same letter, but I did call the company. What I was told was to go ahead and deposit the check and to call back in a week or so after the check cleared. So I thought it was pretty.
before I deposited I ask the manager about the check, she did some research on other checks from the same company. She was able to actually see other checks and was able to Tell me that my check was no good.. I also call newbridge bank were the check was written from and they told me that the check was no good!! -
