My family and I have been looking for a 4 bdrm house to rent. I came across several on Craig's list. The rent varied from $2100 t0 $2600, all 4 bdrm houses. Each listing had a different telephone number, which went to the cust service dept of Home or Apartment.com. I was told that they would sign me up for a gold membership for the special price of $165. This entitles me to all of their listings and viewing the property. All of these homes were rent to own category. They said all we needed to do was give them proof of income and $1,000.00 and we could move in immediatley. Nothing said about credit checks. BIG SCAM!!! Why doesn't the authorities shut them down!
