My computer was very sluggish and I then received a notice that .EXE files could not be opened, then same for .dll extensions.
I Googled for help and Speedy PC Pro claimed to be the best, Microsoft endorsed, various other badges stating they were legit and well supported and rated.
After I downloaded the 2 programs they said I needed, Speedy PC Pro and Privacy Controls.
The program ran and came up with over 3,000 problems needing fixing. They recommended clicking the Fix All button, which I did.
Now I cannot open any program, except IE.
Every desktop icon has a red circle, with white PC in center. In My Programs the same for most of everything there.
Now when I try to open any program or short cut that has the circle logo, the download page for Speedy PC Pro opens.
I cannot do a thing. I am not very tech oriented but I do know that Speedy PC Pro has somehow hijacked most of my computer, and I am very, very angry.
Are these people rip off artists. My work is at a standstill. I cannot afford the time nor aggravation, but I need help.
If anyone knows what I should do, please let me know.
Thanks for reading.
