My son has a cell phone under my name for emergecny etc. As a normal monthly bill we got the cheapest plan and typicaly was $28.00-$30.00 a month.
I was late paying his bill and so thought the amount has been carried over to the next month. But as I looked carefully there has been a charge of $34.00 added on each month from this company The Mobile Generation. My son is now only 15 and had no parent consent or authorization for this to occur. Apparently it is a trivia text that got messaged to his phone and kept sending trivia questions. Not realizing that a fee was been adding and continuing unless it was unsubscribed. We never subscribed to begin with and my son had no idea that this was happening. As I realized the bill amount , I had phoned the number to inquire what it was about and as an explanation, under no circumstance was this aproved or parent permision given to this company for this to occur and be charged. As a concerned parent I am very upset that such a thing can happen to under age innocent kids, how can a company pull such a stunt!! I expect to be reinburced the amounts that have been accrued on my sons cell phone bill. I went for the cheapest plan for a reason, not expecting such a scam to take place. I looked back on my bills and as of Feb till now so far $130.00 has been an added charge on my sons bill, not acceptible. Speaking with a man on the phone as of May-30-2012 this trivia text has been stopped. I certainly hope so I will find out when I get my June bill. As for the meantime how do I get my money back from this scam?
