I responded to a government looking mailer discussing the HAMP bailout. I was directed to Allstate Law Firm and was in contact with Kelly Miller there. We had several discussions and after extensive research with California Bar and BBB, I agreed to let them help us against Chase Bank since Chase had blown us off. I have had nothing but problems trying to stay in contact with them. Staff surgeries, vacations, overworked, etc are all reasons I was given for them not returning my phone calls. In December 2011 I reached a manager at Realty Law and he said that the banking had slowed down due to holidays and overseas financial markets. Chase had not processed any of our paperwork and we were in a "hold" waiting for Chase to assign someone. Finally in February or March 2012, I am told that we have been assigned a "reviewer" by Chase and we were moving forward. Now in May 2012, after 2 weeks of trying to get hold of Realty... I get a phone call from Chase saying that we have been dropped from loan modification program and put back into collections because our "lawyer" is not returning phone calls, hung up on Chase 2 times, and has not filed any paperwork at all with Chase. So, who is lying to me? I want my money back and any/all complaints against this company filed.

Update: 06/08/2012

After continuing to contact Realty Law Center, the phone number is now no longer working. I have no return phone call or email response. What can I do?

  • Contact the California Bar Asssociation and the Attorney General's office ASAP and file a complaint against them. The Law regarding Modifications says that they are not to collect any money until a Modification is obtained and agreed upon. They are a Scam. What they do is lie to you and make you believe they are working on your behalf (don't you think it's suspicious that they tell you not to speak to the Bank on your own ?)..they string you along until they get the money and then play "cat & mouse" with you. I wonder if the reason they're not easy to contact is because they have been found out by the Authorties ? I hope so, because I've filed a complaint against them with every Governmental Authority I could find. I hope you and others do the same. I suspect the complaints on this site are just the tip of the iceberg.
