Hey to the (Inappropriate Content Removed) PC Care Experts trying to respond to these posts… Why were you google searching for “PC Care Experts Scam”??? I’ll tell you why I did… They tried to get me to put my credit card information into the computer with the guy watching my screen! He was trying to charge me $170 for one year of cyber protection- not free. I will check this post every so often to make sure PC Care Experts doesn’t come back. I hope all of you Indians in your little call center scamming Americans out of their hard earned money feel guilt at some point later in your pathetic lives. The money you take home every week is fraudulent and robbery! Note to PC Experts… Buy Rosetta Stone for all of your employees before you put them on the phone with Native English Speakers.

My Problem: I had forgotten my email password and was calling to have someone help me retrieve some information on my old account.

I was also absolutely SCAMMED by PC Care Experts. I googled "yahoo email customer service" and a 1-800 number came up, thinking it was actually Yahoo, I called the number and the Indian voice on the other end of the phone greeted me and told me that he worked for Yahoo Customer Care!!! At this point, everything was normal.

The first thing he did: The man, "Harish", told me that I had to download a program to allow him to share the screen on my computer- I stupidly did. After running a “Free diagnostic test” on my computer, before I even gave him the email address in question he said, "o my gosh, it looks like your email account has been hacked by a foreign IP address. They have been getting all of the information on your Microsoft PC- I have a mac. This guy absolutely duped me on the phone.

The Second Thing: He told me to go to www.123rescue.com. I did this and it allowed him to gain access to my computer screen, and most likely my information. He pulled up a word document, on my computer screen that we shared, and started writing in word. THIS GUY COULD NOT WRITE OR SPEAK IN ENGLISH! He first said, okay you can go to Best Buy and have the geek squad take care of your problem. But they probably won't be able to get you back the information in your old email and retrieve your password and they are $200. We are only $170.

He then brought me to the PC Care Experts site. This was a huge red flag. Why would the Yahoo Email guy bring me to some crappy random site?
He would become very upset when I sort of questioned him on some very basic things. I was on the phone for an hour with this jerk. Then I asked for his advisor, a girl came on and after a screaming match, I ended the phone call.

  • Thanks for sharing Marshall. I was almost taken by these crooks myself. I wised up when the dude brought up on-line credit card processing payment, and wanted me to spend $437 to fix my Yahoo email search feature. Sounded a bit curious, to say the least. I was going to post this to warn folks, but glad to see many others have already taken the initiative to do so.

  • The same has happened me, except that it concerns 8 computers and alot more money. Luckily, I had someone checking on them and warned me, so I called my back to stop payment. BUT, since they had control of my computer, everything slowed to a crawl and might cause me to replace the computer. Hope this helps warn others.
