My name is Elaine from Oman. I've booked an online flight via Skysearcheronline for my family of four from Muscat to Johannesburg, SA. I have even done my homework and emailed Emirates Airline to find out if they were legitimate before purchasing from Skysearcheronline and I was told that they are a third party. Emirates didn't tell me not to use them nor that they don't do business with them. I paid through Western Union on the 3rd May '12, money that I had borrowed from the bank in order to pay for these tickets, as my family had just flown and returned from South Africa for an emergency last month...my father's illness and passing. Seeing that we have to fly again on 12 July- 30 August '12 for our summer vacation, I thought it to be a good price in light of the fact that we would have flown twice to South Africa this year, as opposed to flying once. Skysearcher has sent me preliminary etickets, airline reference number along with the eticket and it looked similar to the example on Emirates' eticket on their website. I emailed Skysearcheronline and told them that I didn't see any seat numbers on the ticket and if it would be emailed through on the original eticket that was to be issued 4 hours after receipt of payment...no response to that question. The person who was to receive the money is ALEKSANDRS JEGOROVS, Recipient City: Birmingham, UK. When I checked my status on their website through My Itineraries, my status was confirmed with check marks for the 4 of us and I only had to contact the airline further. What was strange is that they didn't ask for passport details etc. but I thought they would need it for the actual eticket. Upon checking my details for my personal follow up with Emirates Airline on the 6th May, I was told by an Emirates consultant that they needed more information from me eg. flight numbers etc. which I sent them. Another email from Emirates told me that their eticket code starts with 176...and the number Skysearcheronline gave me starts with 00123...the booking confirmation number should be alphanumeric, Skysearcheronline's in only alphabetical. I emailed Emirates again and was told in the final email that the eticket numbers given to me belongs to an American Airline and that I should contact them. I then emailed skysearcheronline again [twice yesterday] and requested the correct details as per Emirates' requirements as I don't want to miss this flight. Another email was sent to skysearcheronline this morning [7th May] and I'm still waiting. So, my biggest fear is that it seems as if I have been conned too and I cannot believe it, because this has NEVER happened to me before. Not only do I now have to pay the bank that money back and still sit without any legitimate etickets, but I also have to find money for other tickets. What do I do now as I'm sure that the person who received the money is also fictitious. How do I get my money back...please help!
