I purchased a new Glastron MX175 bowrider boat from Darryl Moore's Marine located at 19075 I-45 North in Spring Tx. I was unable to pick the boat up until the end of February because the accessories I ordered (swim platform) was not installed and turned out was not even available for the boat purchased. The first day the boat was used, approx. the 1st week of March , within ten minutes the engine (07 Volvo 3.0 Serial #4012212564) started smoking and overheated the engine then died. The boat was loaded and taken back to Darryl Moore's Marine. I explained to the service manager at the time the issue and was told it was impellor problems and not covered by warranty. I did not understand how a brand new boat that had been in the water ten minutes would not be covered under warranty. After 6 weeks of haggeling back and forth and not haveing use of the boat, Darryl Moore's Marine agreed it was a waranty issue and replaced the entire engine with a new Volvo engine. I picked the boat up in the middle of May . The boat was used one time in late June it ran without any problems. The engine was then flushed and the boat was placed into an enclosed storage unit. The boat was used two or three more times and always flushed and kept in storage. In early July I took the boat out and as soon as I left the dock the boat engine again started smoking and overheated and died. The boat was then taken back to Darryl Moore Marine. I spoke with the service manager John Ramano and explained the history and problems with the boat. Mr. Ramano had negative attitude and assumed it was operator error. After the boat sat in there parking lot a month I was called and told the exact same thing I was told the first time, had happened again. He stated the impellor was bad and it would cost $1,500 dollars to fix. I again tried to explain to Mr. Ramano that there was less than 20 hours on the brand new Volvo engine. I asked him how a brand new engine could have the impellor problems so frequent. He stated that they sometimes dry rot and it could have possibly happened while the engine was in there inventory. I still could not understand how that could happen. He then told me he would contact Volvo Service Rep. and explain the situation. Two weeks later I called to check the status and Mr. Ramano told me to pay to fix it or get it off his lot. He was very rude and would not tell me who at Volvo he contacted or there number so I could call and explain in detail the history of the Volvo engine. It is now October I have been paying the note on a boat that has sat in the Darryl Moore Shop the majority of the time. I believe Darryl Moore Marine is not honoring the warranty and believe I have been ripped off and treated unfair. I have scheduled an appt. with an attorney and contacted my finance company and explained to them the situation. Please look into the shady practices of Darryl Moore Marine.
