Vacation Station has turned out to be a rip-off.
My wife and I visited Charleston SC in April of 2011. During our visit we were approached on the street by salesmen from Vacation Station. Needless to say we signed up for their presentation and at the end of which sounded like a wonderful deal signed up. On 2 different occasions I have contacted them, once in October and again in January trying to book a cruise to Alaska. I talked in October with someone named "Amy". She indicated she would take care of us. I never heard back from her. I tried to contact her but was told she no longer works there. After several more phone calls and getting no response I told my wife I think we got ripped off. In January, I called and again was told by someone named "Rose" she would take care of our booking. I requested a booking for a cruise out of Baltimore MD to the Bahamas on Carnival Cruise, the price she sent me was outrageous, I booked the same cruise for a whole lot less than their price using Carnival Cruise Lines directly. I also asked for a cruise to Alaska, I never did hear back from Rose. I tried to call her but was told "there is no Rose" that works there.
I doubt anything can be done to get some sort of refund from these folks but I think they are in the business of ripping off the public especially senior citizens. I should have learned by this time in my life that if it to good to be true, it most likely is too good to be true. These people are a menace to the reputation of Charleston SC. They operate in the prime tourist area of the city not far from the cruise terminal. They prey on unsuspecting tourists, I noticed most of the folks in the seminar were seniors so this is who they are after. Do all of us a favor and please post this so other folks will be aware of them. I wish the city of Charleston would pull their business license and run them out of Charleston as they are destroying this beautiful city's warm wonderful reputation.
