Green Dot does not contact customers to request MoneyPak payments as a way to pay for winnings. We ask that you only provide MoneyPak to approved partners, which you can find on our website. Our packaging and website include a Fraud Warnings and we remind you to treat MoneyPaks like cash. We will assist in cases of potential fraud and will do our best to recover funds if possible. Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee a refund once the MoneyPak numbers have been provided to a company or individual. We are looking into the company that contacted you and ask that you contact the MoneyPak helpline at 1-800-473-3636 if you need help with your MoneyPak.

  • The called me and told me I won a prize of 1 million dollars & a new car. All I had to do was send a text and wait for a answer and pay $500.00 for my winning badge but for Paypal account holders their was now fee. I call PayPal and the GreenDot and they said it was all a scam. Good luck Hope you get your money back but most of these scams come from over seas and they are hard to catch, they just keep moving to other places.

  • Green Dot customer service is a joke. I was accused of making money illegally and then adding it to my card. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I was denied. Why in the world would Green dot cancel the account of a VIP member because they make too much money? Noone with intelligence can tell me that makes sense. I have yet to receive a reasonable answer.

  • We apologize for the experience. Green Dot regularly monitors customer accounts to make sure they are being used in a way that is consistent with the design of the card. In some cases due to excessive load activity, we will close an account. Circumstances which would call for a block vary depending on the card type and the activity. We ask that you contact customer support when dealing with a block on your account.

  • they just did the same to me.
    my account was suddenly closed without warning.
    on the card is the money i need in order to move in 9 days.
    this will also stop my direct deposit which will take 15-30 days to be fixed.
    i am going to end up losing the apartment i was trying to move into in 9 days, as well as end up homeless where i am now.
    they have single handily ruined my life, and my families lives, by doing this at such a crucial time.

  • Phillip and others Please contact me, so we can share info, I had over $400.00 of unauthorized charges on my card in a city that is 40 minutes away from Greendot headquarters in Monrovia, CA. I live in Niagara Falls, NY and the charges were not online they were done by someone in person somehow and no one else had access to my card the other thing is that the card # was almost like Phillips it was 4606 9900 0171 6176... I believe an employee at the Greendot headquarters is doing this and I want something done if anyone else would like to share info please email me at: [email protected]

  • MoneyPak is an easy and convenient way to send money to where you need it. The MoneyPak works as a ‘cash top-up card’. Once you purchase it at a participating retailer with cash, you can use it to reload prepaid cards, add money to a PayPal account without using a bank account, or make same-day payments to major companies. MoneyPak numbers are similar to cash in that if they are lost, stolen or given away, the money cannot be recovered. MoneyPak packages are printed with a Fraud Alert. Customers will also find a fraud warning and information on how to protect themselves from scams on the MoneyPak website https://www.moneypak.com/Home.aspx.   • The Green Dot MoneyPak is not a reloadable prepaid debit card. MoneyPak works as a “cash top-up card” that consumers can use to reload prepaid debit cards, add money to their PayPal account, or make same-day payments to approved MoneyPak partners. Green Dot is committed to educating consumers about how to avoid being victims of scams and we work closely with law enforcement to help enhance these efforts. A fraud warning is included on the MoneyPak package and information on protecting yourself from fraud, including common scams, is available on the MoneyPak website. When using MoneyPak, consumers should first verify the recipient is on the list of approved partner companies listed on the MoneyPak website, and never provide MoneyPak information to an individual person requesting it as a form of payment. MoneyPaks are to be treated like cash and we are not able to guarantee a refund of a used MoneyPak. We will assist in cases of potential fraud and will do our best to recover funds. Customers will be charged their first monthly maintenance fee of $5.95 30 days after registration or 90 days after the card is purchased, whichever comes first. Customers can avoid reload fees by reloading free through direct deposit. The monthly maintenance fee is waived in any monthly billing cycle when you load at least $1,000 to your Card OR have 30 posted purchase transactions.
