  • Marilyn, you should call Paypal and explain your situation. The scammers sent you the package of non-shoes so they could say they'd filled your order-- but you can now open a dispute saying it was the "wrong item," even though they clearly sent the wrong thing on purpose.

    The rep I just spoke to told me this is a scam that's gaining popularity fast-- they're aware of it, and this particular group of scammers. Again-- don't just email, CALL!

  • I've just gotten off the phone with Paypal, and they know this is a scam. The guy said, "We'll get your money back!" I suggest calling, if you've been frustrated by emailing-- I originally filed it as "item not received," but after reading others' experiences here, asked if I should change my claim to "wrong item," even though there was nothing in or on the package (Hannah Montana bag) to indicate it had anything to do with Ben-Shoes, or my "order." The email responses weren't helpful-- but the guy on the phone WAS.

  • I placed my order with Ben-Shoes on 9/2/11; sent two emails, beginning 10 days later, getting no response. I also received a bag (Hannah Montana, in my case) from China, but no identifying invoice to say it had anything to do with Ben-Shoes (this was a fatal mistake on their part, I think!). I submitted a claim via Paypal for "item not received," but today spoke with them, and it's changed to "wrong item sent," or however they describe it. The Paypal rep said this is a rapidly growing type of scam... but "We'll get your money-- it may take a while, but we'll get it!" Another great reason to use Paypal, especially when the deal looks too good to be true, as this one did!

    BTW-- save the bag, and the packaging, in case they need the evidence.

  • Agreed, Marilyn-- "too good to be true? " was my own thought as I ordered a pair of shoes on 9/2/11, but I used Paypal, guessing I would be more likely to be protected if something wasn't right. I also received a mysterious Hannah Montana bag in the mail, and wondered if it was somehow part of the Ben-Shoes thing. My complaint to Paypal a couple of days ago was instantly escalated to a "Claim," and the next big date is supposed to be 9/29, at which point they'll go after the money. Can't say I expect to see it, but seeing others' larger losses, I think I sort of lucked out.

  • I called paypal back because they closed my case since the seller said they sent my items. I said I never received my shoes, and paypal said well maybe they left them on the porch and someone stole them? I did mention to them that I did receive this cheap mickey mouse bag worth maybe $1 from China but this is not what I ordered. They looked up the seller and found they had several issues w/them about people getting this bag and not their orders. So, paypal then gave me my money back. I received my money within 2days.

  • Good Luck getting Pay Pal to see through the smoke screen. I was given the same answer. I am appealing. Because they said they sent a package and I received it, Pay Pal believes that piece of crap is 3 pair of shoes sight unseen. I guess we have all learned a lesson where Pay Pal covers our backs...yeah right !!!

  • Good Luck !!! Pay Pal believed THEIR side of the story. They said they sent a package. No crap !! A worthless Hannah Montana tote bag. I have the mailer it came in and if Pay Pal can fit 3 pairs of shoes in it I'll kiss their behinds. I am appealing their decision. By the way, I have googled all of their shoes site names and all are no longer active. What does that tell you. If it's too good to be true then it definitely IS!!! Lesson learned.

  • I was scammed also and Pay Pal stood behind the seller. I can't believe they let them get away with it. I am appealing their decision. Good Luck. And I thought Pay Pal would investigate further then their explanation of "They said they sent a package, you received it... " not valid complaint
